WSOP Team Bling

Following on from last year’s WSOP Online series, Natural8 once again brought back their Team Bling promotion for this year. With this promotion, any Natural8 player who won a gold bracelet event would also win bonus live event packages (called LiveX Packages) courtesy of Natural8.

This year, there were three winners in total who won a $10,000 LiveX Package each and also a spot on Team Bling – the team of WSOP winners who would also become Natural8 ambassadors.

  • Joao Simao – Event #2: $1,111 Caesars Cares Charity Event
  • Eduardo Pires – Event #7: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER
  • Vincas “seimininkas” Tamasauskas – Event #13: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

Each of these players’ $10,000 package included 6 months as a member of Team Bling, $7,500 in live event buy-in sponsorships, as well as $2,500 to cover any expenses.

Joao Simao (Brazil)

The first Team Bling member was Joao Simao, who won Event #2: $1,111 Caesars Cares Charity Event for $206.074.99. In a field of 1,584 entries, he prevailed and walked away with the top prize and his very first gold bracelet. A familiar face in both the online and live poker circuit, Simao became the 10th Brazilian player to win one of poker’s most coveted prizes. A popular figure in the country’s poker scene, he also has several million in cashes to his name.

Eduardo Pires (Brazil)

The second Team Bling member was also another Brazilian player – Eduardo Pires. This was Brazil’s third victory in just seven events during the series, with Pires taking home the top prize of $1,384,012.80 in Event #7: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER. The event was a popular one, crushing its $5 million guarantee for a final amount of $7,747,725 in prize money. The South American poker powerhouse beat out 953 Day 1 survivors, and was one of three Brazilian players in the final nine.

Vincas “seimininkas” Tamasauskas (Lithuania)

The third and final Team Bling member was Vincas “seimininkas” Tamasauskas, who hails from Lithuania. Topping a field of 267 entries in Event #13: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, Tamasauskas claimed the top prize of $268,926.38. The 6-max format of the event resulted in quick-fire eliminations, which also saw his fellow Team Bling member Joao Simao departing in 12th place for $15,642.

WSOP Amazing Race

The second promotion available exclusively to Natural8 players was the WSOP Amazing Race. A total of $75,000 was given away, spread across 9 leaderboards split by country/region – Japan, Vietnam, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Rest of the World. Each leaderboard gave out at least $5,000 in LiveX Packages, which consisted of $3,500 in live event buy-ins as well as $1,500 in expenses.

Players who participated in any WSOP tournaments earned points towards their respective leaderboards. Check out the top winners in the Natural8 Exclusive WSOP Amazing Race Leaderboard

WSOP 2-in-1 Challenge

The final promotion available to Natural8 players was the WSOP 2-in-1 Challenge. A total of $30,000 in prizes was given away, split into 6 Flipouts of $5,000 each. This was the very first time Natural8 ran a hybrid leaderboard – combining tournaments and cash games – for players to earn points.

All players had to do was play in any WSOP branded tournaments (including satellites and side events), and at the same time boost their points by playing in cash games. Cash games that were included in this promotion were Hold’em, PLO/PLO-5, Short Deck (6+), Rush & Cash, and All-in or Fold. Players earned 1 point for every raked hand, all the way up to 10 points when winning a hand with 72 at showdown.

Points earned by playing tournaments were multiplied by points from cash games to determine a final chipstack in the WSOP 2-in-1 Challenge Flipout. Players who played in higher stakes tournaments also had faster point accumulation due to multipliers of up to 20x (for $50 big blinds and above).
